Pilates teaches you awareness of how you hold yourself and how to use your body in the most beneficial way. This can lessen and even relieve chronic pain caused from bad posture, injuries and, sometimes, skeletal positioning (such as scoliosis). You will learn to strengthen your “powerhouse” (aka “core”) for movement instead of relying on smaller muscle areas and joints to bear the brunt of the body’s weight.
